Early Years

The Early Years Department comprises of First and Second Steps Classes and Reception, which are run by our excellent Early Years team. Children may join us from the age of 2+, where they are taught in our purpose built First Steps Nursery with easy access to their own outdoor area. At 3 the children move to our Second Steps Nursery which is housed in well-resourced, large roomy classrooms, with its own dedicated outdoor learning area.

The Early Years facilities promotes learning activities both in and outside the classroom setting, and this is continued through to our Reception classes where the children are also given free access to resources and are encouraged to learn through their own experiences and individual interests.

Our teaching is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and a creative curriculum caters for the individual needs of every child here at Park Hill School.

The children benefit from being taught by specialist French, PE, Music and Performing Arts teachers and the children also have the opportunity to take part in ballet lessons. Throughout the year the children all have a part in a variety of school productions which encourages self-confidence from an early age.
