Pre-Prep

Year One and Two children are taught in small teaching groups by their class teacher, along with specialist staff for French, Music, Performing Arts, Art, Design & Technology, Computing and Physical Education. The children enjoy their Games lessons at the outstanding Kingston Grammar School sporting facilities at Ditton Field, in addition to a weekly swimming lesson. The broad curriculum covers a wide variety of subjects alongside Maths, English and Science.

Staff to pupil ratios are excellent across the school, enabling children of all abilities to reach their full potential. Park Hill encourages and develops independent thinking from its pupils in all areas of school life and the curriculum. In both cross curricular activities and technology lessons the children have regular access to our set of iPads as a medium for exploring and investigating. They are encouraged to develop their interest in the world around them through our popular Woodland School program, where the children use both our extensive gardens and nearby Richmond Park as a base for outdoor learning.

The Pre-Prep curriculum addresses the needs of all children. A programme of continuous assessment is followed throughout the Pre-Prep Department, where we monitor the children and offer support and extension from our Learning Enrichment Department when needed. The teachers work together to ensure that we meet the needs of every child in this first stage of their education.

A wide variety of extra-curricula clubs are available after school, ranging from archery, fencing, football, cookery and ballet clubs to Breakfast and After School Care. We also offer the children the opportunity to learn a musical instrument with qualified musicians.
