Year 2
Form 1 Park Hill School

Form 1 Park Hill School
Year 2 pupils have a variety of cultural, linguistic and religious backgrounds and are of mixed ability. While many are performing at levels in advance of their chronological age, all are keen to make the best progress they can and take full advantage of activities that specifically address their individual needs.
English and Mathematics are usually taught in the mornings. Music, French, ICT and sport lessons are delivered by subject specialists.
The initial focus in History and Geography and Science is on the British Isles. Geography and the natural environment both affect History so we try to integrate the subjects in order to give a broad, holistic education. The focus then broadens to encompass the wider world.
All of the curriculum areas are also taught through our creative curriculum including Art and Technology and Performing Arts.
Pupils are encouraged to question and to apply their knowledge logically and imaginatively. To make the best use of teaching time, pupils are taught about good working practices and habits as well as appropriate behaviour.
