The Nursery is housed in its own bright building within the school grounds where the children enjoy a stimulating learning environment and receive the individual care and attention that young children need.

The Nursery day begins at 8:25 am. During the morning session the children are introduced to the concepts of academia in a fun and happy way.

Just as importantly, the children in the Nursery are taught how to share and play, encouraged to be kind and considerate to their friends and well mannered at all times. The school’s pretty garden with climbing frame, wendy house and sandpit is used all year round. On warmer days the water play area is very popular!

The Nursery children are cared for and taught by two full time qualified members of staff. They are supported by a wide variety of additional staff, including specialist PE teachers. Some children stay a full day, while others go home at lunchtime.

All pupils broadly follow the curriculum set out by the government for the Early Years Foundation Stage. The emphasis is on learning through play, giving pupils a grounding in all the skills they will need in their future school careers. They cover Language, Mathematics, Knowledge and Understanding of the World, Creative, Physical, Personal and Social Skills. Most importantly, however, we hope to encourage children to be independent, imaginative and confident learners.
