Form III
Form III is made up of the older children in Park Hill. It is a pleasure to see these pupils gaining in confidence and independence during their last two years in the school and becoming young ladies and gentlemen.
The final year can be hard work with entrance exams and interviews to tackle! However, there is a lot of fun as well. Here are some comments from past and present pupils:
"In Form III, other subjects are added to the curriculum such as Public Speaking and Current Affairs. The weekly routine runs smoothly but we still have loads of fun. Several trips are arranged throughout the term. This term we even saw an opera (children's production!). Sports matches against other schools are also arranged. There is a sense of community in Park Hill especially Form III. I find year 6 a great boost for Secondary School.
I really enjoy it here in Form III. Form III is the best class. You may have to do lots of work and exam papers in year 6 but it is still fun. The classroom is very warm and you have an excellent view of the playground. It is a very calm classroom. Form III gets to go on lots of trips not only in England but also in France. We also get to play against other schools in Netball.
Form III is the best class in the school. There are many activities to do like the netball matches against other schools. We go on outings, for example we went to Hampton Court for the day. There are so many memorable days that happen in Form III that I will look back and smile upon them. Form III went to France for the day. We visited a supermarket and a chocolate factory. Although Year 6 do lots of hard work it is good practice for the exams.
The teachers trust us to do jobs for them and we are responsible for setting an example to the younger children. We are often chosen to read poems, prayers and stories in church services. Also, we sing solos and hymns. Every Thursday we hold the little children's hands and walk them to the church.
Our teachers give us challenging work because of practice for exams. All our hard work pays off and we get great results in exams. It is fun having lots of different subjects and kind teachers to teach them. We learn each one in lots of detail, which makes things more interesting.
I think Form III is my most favourite class in the whole school. We get to go to France every year and do lots of fun activities. You can be a house captain and wear the badge representing your house. Every week someone is "Star of the Week"; where you can do jobs and your picture is stuck on the wall. When I leave the school, I shall always remember being in this class."
The class has adopted a pony called Darcey, who lives at the Redwings Horse and Donkey Sanctuary in Norfolk. Twice a year the form raises money for the sanctuary to help towards Darcey's upkeep by holding a sale of delicious cakes or a mufti day!
We all remember our final year at Prep School. I hope that the children from Park Hill will always be able to look back with fond and positive memories.
