At Park Hill we are fully aware that healthy, fit children have greater energy and are more alert in class. We are fortunate to have the use of the nearby Hawker Sports Centre, where pupils participate in a variety of sporting activities such as football, athletics, hockey, rounders, kwick-cricket and netball. Professional coaches teach the children tennis all year round at Coombe Wood Lawn Tennis Club and children in Transition take weekly swimming lessons at the Malden Centre.

Richmond Park, with its profusion of natural resources, is on our doorstep. Weather permitting, we often walk there and use our senses to study nature for perhaps creative writing, maths, art or science lessons. Sometimes we just go to play games! Each day the children have the opportunity for fun in our large garden and play area, equipped with climbing frames and bars to help build their growing muscles. The school fully supports the boroughıs annual ŒWalk to schoolı week, which encourages the children and their parents to leave their cars behind in the mornings.

Healthy children need nourishing food. Our catering staff provides a balanced two-course meal at lunch time, and a fruit snack and milk in the mornings. As busy children often forget to drink enough, we expect each child to bring a named water bottle with them into class every day. There are also readily accessible water fountains.
